Annie Ruth's Bio

Annie Ruth is a dynamic sister who utilizes her positive voice to inspire audiences nationally. She is an award-winning poet, author, and performing artist who exhorts people from all walks of life to walk in their unique gifting.

 

Annie Ruth describes her work as a reflection of her positive spirit. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from National University in San Diego, California. She is the author and illustrator of over 15 books, articles and inspirational commentaries for both children and adults.

 

Annie Ruth is active within the community, leading causes that impact women, children, the arts, and literacy. She has a passion for empowering youth and has consistently produced arts, literacy and education projects that benefit the community at large. Her work has impacted countless people across the country. She has presented workshops and performed in national forums such as Speaking of Women's Health®, Universal Sisters® the National Council of Negro Women conferences, African American Women on Tour® and numerous other civic and community venues, addressing topics relevant to positive self-esteem and creativity.

A few of her awards include a YWCA Career Woman of Achievement, an Ohio Senate Commendation for her community service and artistic accomplishments, the Taft Museum of Art Ducanson Artist in Residence, Leading Woman award for Arts & Entertainment, and Enquirer Woman of the Year.
